Participation in the workshop "Learn to write a good proposal" LIFE-2015 Program in Palencia
D.1. Communication and dissemination actions
On April 8, 2015 was held in the multipurpose room of the Campus "The Yutera" at the University of Valladolid in Palencia a training session of the 2015 LIFE program called "Learn to write a good proposal."
The consortium for the European project LIFE "Integral Carbon", represented by the University of Valladolid Professor, Luis Manuel Navas, and by Jorge Miñón Martinez researcher at the University of Valladolid, were invited to participate in a training workshop held by the Research Foundation of the University of Valladolid in collaboration with the Quercus consulting group IDI-Management Solutions R & D + i.
The workshop addressed important aspects of the LIFE 2014-2017 Work Program and the opportunities that this financial instrument of the European Union represents to the scientific and business communities currently working in the area of sustainability and the environment.
Using data from actual case studies the workshop made particular reference to the many successful Spanish companies that have already obtained LIFE projects. Technical reports and proposal preparation of LIFE projects were presented, including the design and explanation of the project idea to finding partners and stakeholders for the implementation and execution of the project, was another essential part of the workshop. From their extensive practical experience examples were given and discussed of how to avoid common mistakes when preparing and submitting a LIFE proposal.
To close the workshop, there was a useful and lively panel discussion in which representatives of three LIFE projects ("Integral Carbon", "Green Deserts" and "Operation CO2") of which the University of Valladolid is a partner, had the opportunity to tell their success stories of preparing their proposals, and to share their positive experiences in project implementation, working with their national and international partners, and to disseminate and describe their progress and results to the interested participants.
In the case of the LIFE Project "Integral Carbon" the photographic exhibition on the methods of producing a biofertilizer from agroindustrial processing wastes and algae in photobioreactors particularly caught the interest of the participants.
During the round table discussion the representatives of the LIFE "Integral Carbon" project had the opportunity to share their practical experiences of proposal presentation and eventual implementation of their projects with interested participants who were applying for the next calls in the LIFE program. This event was also followed with great interest via streaming by individuals and organizations all around the world interested in the program.
